The Egg Chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the Radisson SAS hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is perhaps the single-most recognizable icon of 20th century interior design, a typical Jacobsen style. More than 50 years after its design, the Egg Chair is still used in advertising, film and television as a symbol of sophisticated urbanism. It is believed to be inspired by Eero Saarinen's "Womb chair", from which it borrows some traits.

Product Story:
Eero Saarinen created the Womb Chair, originally known as the Wombat Chair in 1948. The Womb Chair's organic form is representative of the mid-century Scandinavian modernism style of furniture using synthetic materials to create inspired forms. He had three design principles ¨C Function, Structure and being part of the time. Eero Saarinen designed with the human body form in mind. A simple concept yes, but many Product Storys prefer aesthetics to functionality. In nearly every case, a piece of furniture that rises to become a classic has both striking artistic form as well as function.

Product Story:
Shin and Tomoko Azumi design furniture, products and stage sets in an elegantly playful style. Both the Azumis were born in Japan: Shin in Kobe in 1965 and Tomoko in Hiroshima in 1966. They met at Kyoto City University of Art, where they studied product design and environmental design respectively. Their first collaboration was a group sculpture project in their first year in Kyoto. In 1995, they formed Azumi and started establishing themselves in the design world by putting limited editions into production and gradually winning commercial commissions. They concentrated on pieces which could be economically produced in small quantities. Since 2005, Shin Azumi and Tomoko Azumi have been operating individual design studios; the partnership has now dissolved.
Our table is a high quality reproduction of the original. It's a simple, sleek contemporary design that goes with everything. Gas-lift design. The pistons allow your chair's height to be adjusted, and it does so smoothly. Perfect for entertaining guests at restaurants, your home bar, or for stylish seating around the kitchen counter.

Product Story:
MLF Swivel Armchair is made of tubular steel and fully swivels. Chair has leather upholstered seat. Enjoy this chair in your dining room, lounge or even in your office.MLFclassified seating furniture into four groups upon the basis of its primary function: relaxation, comfort, conversation or work/eating. Consequently, the Siege Tournant is utilized not only in the office, but also at the dining table. This upholstered swivel chair made of tubular steel was first introduced in 1928 as part of an interior by Charlotte Perriand, who represented Modern's office at the "Salon des Artistes Decorateurs".
The basic form of the Siege Tournant recalls a bentwood model of the Thonet Company that was often used for the furnishing of his own architectural interiors. However, in the case of this chair, the legs, seat and backrest are visually distinguished as three separate structural elements, and their connecting points are reduced to a minimum. The sole difference between the Siege Tournant and a stool created at the same time is the combination arm and backrest, which is formed out of a piece of bent steel tubing, enveloped in leather upholstery and mounted on the seat surface.

Product Story:
Design by George Nelson and Irving Harper, 1956. The playful Marshmallow Sofa is a landmark of modern design that's still turning heads and making people smile. The sofa originated from the discs that are its hallmark. The original George Nelson Marshmallow Sofa was conceptually designed in 1954. At the time, George Nelson was not working alone. The actual designer of the Marshmallow Sofa was Irving Harper, an employee of the George Nelson Group. George Nelson took credit. First production of the sofa began in 1956. The sofa ended production in 1961 with only 186 original pieces being produced. Some were available with cushions all the same color and some had multiple colored cushions.
As with many mid-century classics, the Marshmallow sofa gained in popularity as the years went by. It was featured in pop art publications and a variety of big screen pictures. By popular demand the Marshmallow sofa was re-introduced in the mid 1980's in the form of reproductions of the original design and continues to be made to this day. The Marshmallow sofa was designed in the "Atomistic" style, which explodes its parts into separate, brightly colored elements. In this case the elements are the cushions, which float on the frame, it is not only astonishing in its appearance, but also surprisingly comfortable.

Product Story:
The comfortable sofa set series was originally designed in 1928 for the Maison La Roche house in Paris. The design is the modernist response to the traditional club chair. The series comes in a smaller version and a larger version known as the MLF modern stool considered more appropriate for practical living purposes. Remarkably comfortable, Designer often referred to the pieces as "cushion baskets". A striking feature of the modern stool is the externalized metal frame supporting the base, extending as the legs and running the entire length of the piece. Its not just the front of the ottoman/stool that is attractive, the metal frame work means design detail from the sides and back allowing for easy placement even in the middle of a room. The MLF modern set is often used in a group of 2 chairs (1 seat version) and a single sofa or love (2 or 3 seat versions).
